Soil Microbes from Saline–Alkali Farmland Can Form Carbonate Precipitates

چکیده
The formation of soil inorganic carbon in saline–alkali lands is great significance for enhancing sequestration. As the mechanisms, addition to discovered abiotic microbial mechanisms remain unclear. To address this, microbes were isolated from farmland Yellow River Delta north China. Then, their capacity carbonate precipitation was determined. Ten strains obtained soil. Of these, seven (four bacterial and three fungal strains), belonging Rhodococcus sp., Pseudomonas Bacillus Streptomyces Aspergillus Cladosporium Trichoderma formed precipitates range 89.77~383.37 mg. Moreover, related specific metabolisms by which can raise pH (from 7.20 >8.00), suggesting that enhance values containing function formation. Although an situ experiment needed confirm such capacity, these results showed bacteria fungi existing form precipitates. present study provided a perspective mechanism formation, further implying potential sequestration farmlands.

متن کاملPolythene and Plastics-degrading microbes from the mangrove soil
Biodegradation of polythene bags and plastic cups was analyzed after 2, 4, 6, and 9 months of incubation in the mangrove soil. The biodegradation of polythene bags was significantly higher (up to 4.21% in 9 months) than that of plastic cups (up to 0.25% in 9 months). Microbial counts in the degrading materials were recorded up to 79.67 x 104 per gram for total heterotrophic bacteria, and up to ...

متن کاملDynamics of soil organic carbon mineralization in tea plantations converted from farmland at Western Sichuan, China
Climate warming and land use change are some of the drivers affecting soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics. The Grain for Green Project, local natural resources, and geographical conditions have resulted in farmland conversion into tea plantations in the hilly region of Western Sichuan. However, the effect of such land conversion on SOC mineralization remains unknown. In order to understand the t...
